Project Title: Musicianship Pedagogy for Secondary School Students from Classical and Contemporary Popular Music Backgrounds: A Comparative Study of the Music Teaching at the International Christian Quality Music Secondary School, the Lee Shau Kee School of Creativity, and the Hong Kong College of Technology

It was a distinct privilege to participate in the Grand Final of the CUHK Capstone Project Presentation Competition, where I had the opportunity to present in front of all the brilliant scholars and fellow students. The Training Workshop proved invaluable, enabling me to strengthen my presentation skills in a comprehensive manner—skills that I believe will greatly support my future development as an educator. This experience represents a highly rewarding conclusion to my final-year research journey, and I would strongly encourage other final-year students to join this competition. Many thanks once again to the organizing committee for providing such a wonderful experience!!!

Project Title: Reflect to Remember: The Effects of Reflective Vocabulary Learning Practice on Hong Kong EFL Learner’s Vocabulary Retention

Prior to the CPPC, I had little exposure to capstone projects outside my own faculty; so, participating in this presentation has been both eye-opening and humbling. Other than my own presentation, the CPPC also provided a rare window into the remarkable work of other departments—ranging from typhoon monitoring technology to intuitive way-finding systems for the elderly. I am truly grateful to have witnessed the collective brilliance of my peers across CUHK.

Though many of us are strangers, I feel an immense sense of pride in our shared accomplishments: identifying societal challenges and daring to solve them with innovation. To me, that is the true essence of a university education. CPPC has been the perfect finale to my journey at CUHK, and it is a memory I will undoubtedly cherish. My sincere thanks to the organizing committee for fostering this interdisciplinary connection—it has been nothing short of magical.

Project Title: Accurate Typhoon Forecast Using Personal Computer

Before this CUHK Capstone Project Presentation, I never thought I could speak to a crowd comfortably, let alone remember my own name without stuttering. It challenged me to translate concepts within my discipline to a broad audience, requiring an entirely different set of skills. I had to unlearn years of academic training, and resist using technical jargon. Ultimately, this reminded me the true purpose of Physics modelling, it exists not to make us sound smart, but to serve people. Listening to presenters from other disciplines also ignited my curiosity for subjects far beyond my scope. A special thank you is owed to ELTU, whose dedication made this event possible. All in all, I strongly encourage you to take the chance and share the knowledge.

Project Title: Co-design of an Age-Friendly Wayfinding System

As a Year 2 student representing our minor subject’s capstone project, it was a great honour to compete alongside so many talented teams. This experience gave me a valuable opportunity to look back on our one-year capstone journey. Becoming a finalist was not only encouraging but also motivating for our future growth. I am truly delighted to have received constructive feedback from all the professors which has inspired me to keep improving.
